Eligibility for DASA
Residential Requirement
Candidates must be Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) studying in any country (including India) / Indian Nationals studying abroad. In case of Indian Nationals studying abroad they must have completed the 11th and 12th standard or equivalent from outside only.
Age
- Only candidates born on or after October 01, 1994 are eligible.
- Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board / University Certificate [Class X or equivalent] or any certificate issued by the Government authorities only will be taken as authentic.
Academic Eligibility
- Student must have passed the qualifying examination, that is. Senior Secondary [10+2] or equivalent from any education system recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
- Candidates should have completed successfully with Mathematics and Physics and one of these (Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) in 11th and 12th as applicable in the respective board.
AND
- Must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or 6.50 CGPA on a 10-point scale or equivalent grades in all the subjects of the qualifying examination.
- Candidates who appearing for the qualifying examination with the above-mentioned subjects in the academic year 2018-19 and expecting their final results latest by September 15, 2019 may also apply.
AND
- Student should have a minimum total valid score of 1800 in SAT Subject Tests (Subjects: Mathematics level 2, Physics and Chemistry). For more details on SAT Subject Tests (also known as SAT II) visit website: College Board
- SAT subject test score has to be sent directly through College Board to NIT, Surathkal.
- Applicants at the time of registration for SAT Subject Tests should indicate Institute code 6530 for sending their scores to NIT, Surathkal.
- SAT Subject Test scores received till 11th June, 2019 only will be considered for preparation of merit lists for Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3.
Reservation for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWG) and its fee structure
5% supernumerary seats (within 15% of supernumerary quota of DASA) are reserved for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf. The fee applicable for this category shall be at par with the fee prescribed for Indian National (Rs. 1,25,000/- per student per annum) either in INR or equivalent USD.
