The student who have passed in final examination of +2 (Class XII) or its equivalent qualifying examination in the year 2011 or 2012 or Those appearing in +2 in 2013 are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2013. 2010 passouts or before are not eligible to appear in JEE Main.
The candidates who are seeking admission in NITs, IIITs or CFTIs must ensure their eligibility for the admission in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. The candidates who are aspirants only for IITs and ISM Dhanbad must ensure their eligibility for admission in IITs and ISM Dhanbad.
Students who passed their Board exam for the first time in 2012, the eligibility criteria for joining any of the IITs or ISM Dhanbad will be 60% marks in their 12th Board or equivalent (55% for SC/ST/PD candidates). This is a one time exception for JEE Advanced 2013 only.

Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1988 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PWD candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1983 are eligible. The 2011 +2 passed out students are eligible to apply for JEE main. But for JEE advanced the 2011 pass outs are not eligible.
For JEE advanced exam the 60% overall marks required in the total of the Board exam results, not only in Physics, chemistry and Maths.
For IITs the student must secure 60% as basic eligibility in 12th results, he should be in the top 20% rank of CBSE 12th results, then only he is eligible to apply for JEE advanced, provided he has to be In the top 150000 rank of JEE merit list.
