The JEE Advanced Exam will have two objective type papers, Paper I and Paper II. Each paper will consist 3 seperate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Duration of each paper will be 3 hours. The questions will be of objective type, designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.
The answers are to be marked on a separate, 2 sheet carbonless paper. Candidate must not separate or disturb the alignment of the upper and lower sheets. The upper sheet is specially designed machine readable sheet of paper (ORS-Optical Response Sheet). While answering the candidate is expected to darken the bubble(s) against correct answer(s) only on the upper sheet using black ball point pen. The darkening on the upper sheet should be done in such a manner that the impression is seen on the lower sheet. Responses recorded on the upper sheet only will be taken as final. The candidate can take away the lower sheet with the permission of the invigilator(s) at the end of the examination.
The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE(Main) shall be limited to 3 (three) uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years. The candidates passed +2 exam in 2014 or 2015 or appearing in +2 in 2016 are only eligible to appear in JEE Main 2017. Candidates passed +2 in 2015 or before or appearing in 2014 are not eligible to appear in JEE 2017.
Note: If you appeared for AIEEE last year, that will be considered as an attempt in JEE Main 2017 exam.
A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in consecutive years. Therefore, candidates who appeared in JEE (Advanced) 2017 for the first time are also eligible
If a candidate wants to improve his performance in Board Exam, he/she can do so but for consideration of that years result he/she has to appear in all the subjects and not the partial.
