Qualifying marks for NATA-2020

Qualifying marks for NATA-2020 would be based on the following rules:

1. A minimum of 25% must be secured in MCQ portion (30 out of 120)
2. A minimum of 25% must be secured in Drawing portion (20 out of 80)
3. Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) would be based on post-exam statistics and at the discretion of the Council.

Drawing Test

The drawing aptitude test judges the following aspects:

Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner
Visualising and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on the surroundings
Sense of perspective drawing
Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form
Creating interesting two dimensional composition using given shapes or forms
Creating visual harmony using colours in given composition
Understanding of scale and sense of proportion
Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences

Tie Breaking Rules for Overall Score

During merit list, if more than one candidate gets the same overall marks, tie breaking logic would be applied in the following order:

More overall marks obtained in Mathematics test component
Less wrong answers in attempted ones of mathematics test component
More overall marks in problems of Aptitude test component
Less wrong answers in attempted ones of aptitude test component
Earlier date of birth

Can students apply for multiple times in a year?

Yes from 2019 onwards, NATA will be conducted twice a year. Students can apply for both the exams too.

I am from Tamilnadu, is NATA Score is applicable for Other State’s too ?

Yes, the students can apply for other states too through the same score. The students need to apply for separate application. Enroll for Admission Alert will provide information across India on various streams like Architecture, Planning, Design, Fine Arts and other streams too.

Is NATA being enough for NITs ?

For NITS, the students need to apply for separate JEE Architecture paper. NATA may not applicable for NITs.

Is NATA being mandatory for Taminadu Architecture Admission ?

Yes. NATA is the common examination conducted across India. For Tamilnadu Architecture Admission, the student need to apply for separate application. The admission wil be given through 50% Board marks and 50% of NATA Score.

For NATA exam what are the things I need to prepare ?

For NATA entrance exams, you should have inters in drawing and design, you can study about the 3 dimensional, 2 dimensional drawings and their views, proportions of real images in paper and about the general knowledge in architecture.
